This past week, I visited Glossier’s flagship store located here in Soho, New York. I’ve walked past the store a few times since moving to the city and have always wanted to stop in, but never had because of the line. (Let’s start by saying that the line is there for a reason!)

So I made the venture to the store on Thursday fully anticipating a line, as well as a packed store. I arrived to a short line that moved fairly quickly. After waiting for less than 10 minutes, I was able to go into the store and was surprised to see a grand red carpeted staircase! The vibe of the store is very unique, which I feel could be more compared to an interactive showroom than a traditional retail store. The aesthetics were more than just pleasing to the eye, giving the whole experience a more exclusive and luxurious feel.

The showroom and furnishings were all shades of white, cream, and pink with gorgeous mirrored accents throughout the space. Large sectional sofas lined the back wall, and to the right of the room, a separate skincare section can be found. The store provides sinks that guests can use to try out Glossier skincare and give their faces a fresh start before heading out onto the floor to play with the color cosmetics.

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVED the floor layout and the displays for the products. All products were laid out perfectly onto special grooved tables to perfectly display the merchandise. They also provided disposable applicators for guests to try on and experiment and, of course, mirrors in the space were easy to locate. As I looked, shopped, and played with the products, I did not feel rushed by any employees, but did notice them floating around the floor available for help. The absolute worst thing for me during a shopping trip is to feel like employees are following or hovering over me. Also, I must mention the adorable baby pink work suits that the Glossier employees wear, too cute!

After I was finished shopping and had compiled my list on my phone, I headed to the first jumpsuit I saw to place my order. I ordered my products with an associate and payed right there on the floor! (You know what that mean, NO checkout line!) After you order your products, you are instructed to wait for your name to be called. To my surprise, I watched my order come down from a conveyer belt in the ceiling, which I was for sure not expecting.

Overall, my experience at the Glossier store was more than what I had anticipated for. The unique layout made me feel like I was the insider to some innovative new retail experience. If you’re ever in NYC and love Glossier or just makeup in general, like I said, the line is definitely worth the wait!
